The past 24 hours have been a wild ride, fashion-wise, in New York City. Between Thursday’s high of 57 degrees and Friday’s low of 29, celebrity style has truly run the gamut. You might look at the photos below and think, “There’s no way these were taken just hours apart.” You might also think, “I didn’t know John Cena was playing Violet Beauregarde on Broadway.”

Let’s dissect.

Kaley Cuoco

In Rockefeller Center on Friday morning to record a Today segment, Kaley Cuoco paired a long-sleeve mini dress with bare legs and peep-toe shoes.

Carrie Underwood

Presumably around the same hour, Carrie Underwood was further uptown wearing head-to-toe black—and carrying a metallic jacket—to fill in for Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Ryan.

John Cena

Working the morning-show circuit on Thursday, John Cena looked like the eighth Wahlberg brother in Times Square ahead of a Good Morning America taping. My first instinct is to hate this suit. I feel like it’s yelling at me and the pants might be strangling his right thigh. Central casting would send out a villainous banker with a twirly mustache wearing this suit. But somehow … it works?

Elizabeth Sulcer

At one point on Thursday, fashion stylist Elizabeth Sulcer walked the sidewalks of Tribeca in baggy black pants, knee-high boots from her Marc Fisher collab, and what appears to be a tank-top bodysuit; it’s unclear how she makes beach-on-the-top, pirate-on-the-bottom look so right, but clearly she’s bewitched me in the same manner as John Cena .

Elizabeth Sulcer, again

It’s also unclear if this photo was taken before or after the previous one, but on the same day and in the same neighborhood, the same stylist picked a dramatically different look—this one hat-topped, head-to-toe white, and decidedly more covered-up. The only thing the two outfits had in common: boots from her Marc Fisher collab.

Lucy Boynton

Less than a mile away in Soho, Lucy Boynton was weather-appropriate in a leopard teddy coat and bright blue tights while filming a scene for The Politician.

Bette Midler

Also on set: One Bette Midler, looking chic as hell. (Paging Apple: Upgrade this icon’s iPhone immediately.) Midler, along with Judith Light, will join season 2 of the Netflix series.

Tom Hiddleston

Five blocks north, a monochromatic, pea-coated Tom Hiddleston looked like the result of a “what to wear in New York City 50 degrees” Google Image search.

Kim Kardashian West

On her way to Fast Company’s Innovation Festival on Thursday, Kim Kardashian West stayed warm in a shearling-lined jacket and shiny black pants. (Leather? Patent leather? Vegan leather? Your guess is as good as mine.)

Oprah Winfrey & Tina Turner

Later that night, Lady O and Tina Turner were also, like, “No ma’am” to the wintery temps in Midtown, where they were escorted by Turner’s longtime partner, Erwin Bach, to the opening night of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway.

Kanye West

But the winner of the Most Bundled Up In the Past 24 Hours goes to Mr. Kim Kardashian West, who joined his wife at the Innovation Fest in what appears to be a down bomber jacket layered under a down sleeping bag. My body would NOT tolerate this in 57 degrees, but apparently Kanye’s sweat glands get in formation when he decides, “Yes we WILL wear double down before it’s officially winter.”
