Celebs Applaud Padma Lakshmi's SI Swim Debut

Padma Lakshmi made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut, and her friends couldn't be prouder.
When the SI Instagram account shared a preview of the Top Chef host and model's spread, many celebrities took to the comments to congratulate Lakshmi and react to her sizzling photos.
"I fainted," wrote Mindy Kaling, upon seeing Lakshmi in her tiny gold bikini. Severance's Jen Tullock had a similar reaction, joking, "Lost consciousness—how long was I down for?"
Both Tracee Ellis Ross and Top Chef alum Nini Nguyen opted for multiple fire emojis to express their thoughts on the photos, while The Great British Bake-Off 2018 finalist Ruby Bhogal wrote, "Surely it's not legal (or fair) to look THIS good? Holy hellllll 🥵🥵🥵🥵."
Insecure's Yvonne Orji was overjoyed to see Lakshmi serving an incredible look, remarking, "Youuuuuu bettttaaaaaaaa @padmalakshmi!!!"
The official Top Chef account also celebrated the show's host, writing, "Thank you for inspiring women everyday @padmalakshmi ❤️."
Lakshmi was ecstatic to see that Kaling's coming made it on famed Instagram account @commentsbycelebs, sharing the screenshot on her Instagram Story. "😂😂 I love @commentsbycelebs!! An honor," she captioned the Story.
On May 1, it was revealed that the TV culinary personality returned to her modeling roots for the next SI cover.
"From the first conversation to the fitting to every interaction I’ve had with MJ and everyone, they said this is about you feeling good and your comfort level," said Lakshmi about her experience posing for SI. "I want everybody to see this pictorial and understand that sometimes a whole new phase that’s even more exciting than anything you’ve ever experienced before can happen well over 40."
Lakshmi's full spread will be released later this month.
