I work with lots of fashion houses in Europe so I check my emails as soon as I wake up at 7am, and if I have time, I’ll get on the elliptical machine for 20 minutes while doing so. Other than that – and the fact I never miss my coffee and a full breakfast– I don’t have a typical working day. 

Earlier this year I flew to the East Coast two Sundays in a row for less than 24 hours on the ground each time. One trip was to New York to fit Amanda Seyfried for the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again press tour, and the other was to Washington, DC to fit Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot.

This week is particularly busy with prep as I have three shoots in a row coming up: a Harper’s Bazaar cover with Julia Roberts, another shoot with Amber Valletta, and then I’m back with Julia for Lancôme. I’m constantly busy and I do get stressed. I have assistants and I organise myself using my Apple calendar, but there are just so many details to remember and so much happening at the same time.

This means that, apart from the elliptical machine, I don’t often get any exercise. I really miss the walking I did when I lived in New York – in LA, our cars are our second home; mine has red seats and personalised plates. Day to day, it takes me shockingly little time to get ready as I wear a lot of dresses. It only takes longer when my daughter Ivy, 19, has stolen whatever it is I want to wear and I have to go look in her room.
