Olivia Munn revealed on Wednesday that she was diagnosed with breast cancer about 10 months ago, and so many celebrity moms came forward to show their support for the actress. As a breast cancer survivor myself, I know how hard it is to get this scary news — especially as a mom of little kids — and having mom friends is vital!

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” the Newsroom alum captioned a post on Instagram today. “I hope by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey.” She also shared several photos of herself in the hospital and a longer note about her breast cancer journey, where she explained that her doctor recommended an MRI after she scored a 37% on the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score. She then got an ultrasound and a biopsy, and found she had Luminal B cancer in both breasts.

Two months later, she had a double mastectomy. “I went from feeling completely fine one day, to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery the next,” Munn wrote.

“In the past ten months I have had four surgeries, so many days spent in bed I can’t even count and have learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever could have imagined,” Munn wrote in her vulnerable post. “Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice.”

She added that she has been very selective of what she has posted online over the last year, only showing herself when she has “energy” and “when I can get dressed and get out of the house, when I can take my baby boy to the park,” the mom of one wrote.

Many celebrity moms shared their support for the actress in the comments. Jessica Chastain wrote, “You are very generous to share your story. I believe in doing so, you’ve saved lives. So much love to you and your family 💕”

Jeannia Mai commented, “Your courage, your fight, and your ability to even still lift up others (like me) on the toughest of days is truly inspiring. You’re not just going through a journey; you’re teaching all of us what it means to face challenges with grace and determination. You, em, are truly remarkable. 👏👏👏”

Kaley Cuoco wrote, “Thank you for sharing this! Wow❤❤❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌.” Brenda Song wrote, “You’re incredible and resilient. Thank you for sharing and spreading awareness. Sending so much love and healing thoughts. Here if you need anything.”

“Sending you so much love little mama, thank you for sharing your vulnerability and strength 🧡” Rumer Willis wrote. Gabrielle Union commented, “❤️ Thank you for sharing mama. We gotchu ❤️.”

Katie Couric said, “I have been thinking about you. Maybe this is why. Sending you love and gratitude for sharing this. And a huge virtual hug. ❤❤❤❤❤” Mindy Kaling said, “I love you. ❤”

The Home Edit’s Clea Shearer (who is also a breast cancer survivor) commented, “Love you sweet friend 🩷🩷🩷.”

Dr. Aliabadi, Munn’s OB/GYN commented on the post as well. “You are my hero. Your post will save so many lives. I love you so much,” she wrote.

I was diagnosed with Stage 3c Triple Negative Breast Cancer in Feb. 2023, and it felt like the end of the world. There is no way I could have gotten through chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy without the support of my mom friends, my family, and my wonderful husband and kids. It’s so nice to see that Munn has a big support system as well.

In her post, the Hit-Monkey star said she’s “thankful to my friends and family for loving me through this.” She also shared how her partner John Mulaney, who she shares 2-year-old son Malcolm with, has supported her.

“I’m so thankful to John for the nights he spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect,” Munn wrote. “For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”

Mulaney commented on the photo, “Thank you for fighting so hard to be here for us. Malc and I adore you. ❤️” Aww! We love a supportive family.

Sending best wishes and continued health to Munn during this challenging time!
