Diane von Furstenberg's Coin

Designer Diane von Furstenberg has become a fashion icon thanks to her impeccable taste, hard work, and maybe just a dash of luck, courtesy of her dad.

“My good luck charm is a gold coin my father gave to me...a 20-francs piece he wore in his shoe during the war, and he gave it to me when I was a little girl," she told Refinery29. "Now I tape it into my shoe for every fashion show.”

Barack Obama's Collection of Charms

There's no such thing as too much luck, at least not for President Barack Obama. "Ever since I started running for office, people started handing me things when I would speak to a crowd" he said in a White House interview. "Lucky charms, or keepsakes."

Naturally with such a wealth of good fortune he can't carry them all of the time, so instead, the former President has made a habit of selecting a few from his collection each day to keep in his pocket, including items like a rosary from Pope Francis, a poker ship from a biker in Iowa, and an Ethiopian Coptic cross.

"I have a St. Sebastian-he's the Patron Saint of Athletes-so on trips I'll bring him with me," she said before the Rio Olympics. "He's like a little metal figurine."

Heidi Klum's Baby Teeth

Model and designer Heidi Klum has become a household name for her sultry smile (and flawless face, and spectacular body, of course.) Maybe all the success has something to do with her personal lucky charm-a bag of her own baby teeth.

"I don’t, like, advertise it," she tole Entertainment Weekly. "I did show somebody once and it fell under the seat and the flight attendant came over and he’s like, 'Can I help you?' and I was like, 'Yeah, I’m just looking for my teeth.' And he’s like, 'Oh.' I had to find it-it’s not good luck if I leave the tooth on the plane."
