Celebrity-Loved Sneaker Brand Veja Just Re-Issued Their Chic, Soft Leather Volley Trainer Shoes for Spring

The Volley Shoe has been locked in Veja’s archives for over 20 years, and its returning with a modern makeover defined by its softest leather yet, with even more sustainability-focused design in mind. The original 2005 silhouette, inspired by 1970s Brazilian volleyball shoes, became an instant classic when its stock of 5,000 pairs swiftly sold out. The brand went on to build off of its design in similar clean-cut sneaker styles, leaving the Volley in its wake — until today.
The heritage shoe now boasts top-quality O.T. leather (Organic Traced leather) with all-around ethical consideration, such as sourcing from cattle that’s not raised on deforested land or exposed to harmful pesticides and GMOs, and organic cotton that dresses the canvas uppers. The leather tanned in the design’s conceptual home of Brazil, where it’s colored with less dyes than any other Veja shoe and finished with 40 percent Amazonian rubber soles.
