Celebrity Hairstylist Tim Rogers Dies at 51

British-born celebrity hairstylist Tim Rogers has died after a short illness. He was 51 years old.
Based in New York for much of his career, Rogers worked at the now-closed Garren New York salon before partnering with Sally Hershberger in 2016 to open her eponymous salon on 26th Street. Most recently, Rogers had been seeing clients at Valery Joseph Salon.

Best known for his structural haircuts, Rogers worked with A-list clients including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Blake Lively and Roger Federer, also crafting fashion week looks for Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui and Badgley Mischka, among others.
“Tim was a generous and loving friend, a gifted artist, avid horseman, gardener and a gracious host. His love extended beyond friends and family to his beloved furry companions. His passion for discovering and nurturing new talent was a testament to his craft,” said Rogers’ friend, Chris Holdren.
Born in 1972 in Portsmouth, England, Rogers began his education as a hairstylist at Blinkers Hairdressing Academy in Fareham. He continued his training and Winchester’s Toni and Guy before moving to the U.S. in 1998, where he joined Adam Broderick’s salon in Ridgefield, Conn.
In 2012, Rogers was named as Living Proof’s first creative director, helping to inform the science-based brand’s product development. Said Living Proof’s former chief executive officer, Jill Beraud, at the time: “Tim’s talent reaches far beyond styling hair. He has tremendous experience, technical understanding and real creativity — he isn’t afraid to take an unconventional approach to his work. He is full of new ideas and will bring another perspective to our…team of stylists and beauty experts.”
Tim is survived by his parents, Ian and Barbara Rogers; his brother, Simon Rogers; sister-in-law, Michelle; nephews Oliver, Isaac, Winston and Charlie, and his dogs, Billie, Griffin, Harper and Max, as well as his horse, Lady Mae.
