‘Tis the season for a whole new set of celebrity engagements and weddings. As much as we’re looking back on a full year of pomp and circumstance (Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s elegant royal wedding, for instance, or Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ glamorous Indian nuptials, as another example), we’re also looking ahead to 2019, and the great number of celebrities who seem to be poised for the altar.

Whether it be lovebirds who have been with their partners for quite some time (Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes come to mind) or new romances that have been set ablaze (Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s coupling), there are quite a few A-list stars who may just take their relationship to the next level in the new year.

Here, we share our predictions for celebrity weddings in 2019; fingers crossed we’ve placed our bets on the right star couples. Only time will tell what journey their loves will take after the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31, 2018.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez

Talk about a power couple! Though Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are both megastars in their own right, the joining of these two forces has made them, jointly, by and large one of the biggest tabloid headline-makers in the country. A source confirmed to People in March 2017 that the pair had been “dating for a few weeks,” and their relationship has unfolded in the public eye ever since, including family outings with all of their kids, moving in together, committing to charity work as a couple, and vacationing together in some of the world’s most beautiful locales.

“She really is one of the most impressive and smartest human beings I have ever met,” Rodriguez told Extra this past June. As for Lopez, who has had her fair share of Hollywood romances, this one feels different, somehow. “Jennifer is on cloud nine,” a source told People earlier this year. “She has never seemed happier and loves sharing her life with Alex. He often gives her gifts with handwritten notes. It’s a very romantic relationship.”

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams

Social media’s most adorable couple has been taking their relationship one step at a time ever since the day Wells Adams first slid into Sarah Hyland’s DMs with a message about taking her out for “drinks and tacos.” The pair made their official debut as an item on Halloween 2017 by sharing photos of themselves all decked out in costume attire, and have been known for their social PDA ever since. They moved in together this past August, and living together has been “weirdly perfect,” Wells told Entertainment Tonight in September.

“I think you have to be emotionally ready for that and that’s number one,” he said at the time. “Then I think think you have to find the person that compliments you the best, and Sarah is that for me. We’re both huge dorks, we have similar interests. Our brands are the same! Dogs, rose, tacos, [and] The Bachelor!”

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost

Scarlett Johansson was initially hesitant to embark on yet another romantic excursion in the spring of 2017, so when she met Colin Jost, she thought that their relationship would just be fun and casual. But in reality, the Hollywood star fell hard for the Saturday Night Live writer and comedian, and the pair have been inseparable since. By December 2017, Jost was also smitten and was reportedly telling close friends that she was the one for him, and that he wanted to marry her.

“He loves to take her out and show her off,” a source told Us Weekly of Jost. “He’s head over heels.” The pair made their first public appearance together at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in November 2017.

Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters

Even though their relationship is relatively new, Tim Tebow and girlfriend Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters have that “just the two of us” vibe that has us wondering whether a proposal and wedding could happen sooner rather than later. The former football star and the 2017 Miss Universe winner met through this year’s Night to Shine event, which is part of Tebow’s nonprofit, the Tim Tebow Foundation. “Her sister has special needs, so we invited them to Night to Shine in South Africa,” Tebow told the Today show earlier this year. “We kind of met and started talking through that and haven’t stopped.”

After their initial meeting, the pair have since accelerated their relationship, bringing their parents together and even making their relationship Instagram official. “She’s just so special,” he told People in October. “Her whole family is. I’m getting to know everything about her and her family background.”

Venus Williams and Nick Hammond

Though it was her sister, Serena Williams, who made headlines last year after marrying her tech CEO Alexis Ohanian, and then again this year after giving birth to their baby girl, Alexis Olympia, Venus Williams may just be recapturing the spotlight in the new year given the speculation surrounding her relationship to heir Nick Hammond. In August, Hammond gifted Williams a “friendship ring,” but the famously private couple haven’t divulged whether or not wedding plans are on the horizon—and they plan to keep it that way.

“We have a firm commitment to one another to keep our relationship private,” he told Page Six earlier this year when asked about the ring. So let’s just say that we wouldn’t be surprised if the lovebirds did end up eloping in the new year!

Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor

Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor have known each other for quite some time, and their romantic relationship really began with a shared love for gluten-free pancakes. “It was the first time we were together, and she said, ‘I make these amazing gluten-free pancakes,’” the veteran TV and radio host told People earlier this month. “And I said, ‘What?! Well, tell me everything!’ That is all it took for me to really fall.” The couple, who split up briefly in 2014, have been solid ever since, making time for one another in their busy schedules by waking up an hour earlier to just be together.

Crucially, too, neither of the two want to rush their relationship any more than necessary, though they’re very much “in sync” about where they hope their love to grow. “Family is so important to me, and to Shayna as well, but I’ve always tried to put life into a master schedule with deadlines, and I don’t want to do that [with Shayna],” Seacrest told People. “We both try to actually be in this moment, feel this connection, enjoy it and let it grow.”

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes’ relationship has been one for the ages, and one that they’ve kept largely out of the public eye. The two Hollywood heavy hitters have been rumored to be dating since 2013 following Holmes’ 2012 divorce from Tom Cruise, though they have been friends for even longer than that. The famously private couple has, however, let up with some brief instances of PDA as of late, which has caused fans to speculate that the pair could be considering taking the next step in their relationship.

In June, rumors swirled that the pair had called it quits, but a rep for Holmes denied the reports, leaving fans wondering whether that was a backwards confirmation that the couple was, in fact, dating all along. Time will tell, but for now, we’re keen to speculate that the secretive pair may make some moves in the new year.
