Celebrities often appear larger than life on the big and small screens—and on red carpets, for that matter—regardless of their actual height. After all, in Hollywood, not everything is what it seems. Angles and camera tricks abound, creating whatever illusion or image the creative team behind that project wants to convey. But there are a few stars who are actually tall—and you might not even realize it. (Keep in mind that the average height for men and women in the United States is 5' 9" and 5'4", respectively.)
With that, here are 40 celebrities that are way taller in real life than we ever realized.
Taylor Swift (5'11")
This singer-songwriter isn't short in height or on Grammys (she boasts an impressive dozen!).
Mandy Moore (5'10")
