This year, Thanksgiving was a day filled with family, friends, food, and…appealing to Ivanka Trump on social media? Yep. Celebrities are using Instagram to reach Ivanka Trump about the Dream Act. On Thanksgiving, many celebs who noticed that Ivanka follows them tried to get her attention. They’re urging her to “advocate for a clean Dream Act by December.”

Back in September, President Trump announced he was ending the DACA program, which protects undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children. The children, aka the Dreamers, were then allowed to work and study in America and didn’t have to worry about being deported. This policy came to be under the Obama administration and benefitted many — more than 800,000 people, according to Time. So the thought of the DACA program ending is beyond sad and unthinkable.

The Dream Act stands for the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act. A “clean” Dream Act would prevent legislation from creating other measures that could jeopardize the Dreamers. Naturally, Thanksgiving — a day of thanks and gratefulness — seemed like a very fitting day to get the message out to Ivanka. Since we’re living in a social media-heavy age, why not try to get her attention via Instagram?

Sophia Amoruso, everyone’s favorite #GirlBoss, started the “Dear Ivanka” trend on Thanksgiving.

“Every day that passes without a clean Dream Act means anxiety and deportation for immigrant youth,” Amoruso’s post reads. “7,901 youth have already lost DACA and 122 more will lose it each day.”

Happy Thanksgiving, Ivanka #cleandreamact

And Alexa Chung.

Hopefully, the posts will show up in Ivanka’s feed, or she’ll hear about them through other sources. More so, hopefully, she’ll take them to heart and help keep the Dream Act alive.
