Celebrities Urge Fans to Self-Quarantine Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage on across the globe, celebrities are using their voices to urge others to take the health crisis seriously.

Around the internet and across social media, artists like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande are urging fans to consider self-quarantining until the world has gotten a handle on the precarious situation we find ourselves in at the moment.

“'well some of us have to work!' I understand and entirely support your frustration. i do not mean to disrespect anyone who doesn’t have the privilege of cancelled work or being able to call out of their work. but, this is a national emergency and a pandemic of global proportion," Grande shared alongside her statement on Twitter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger took to Twitter with a clip of himself spending time with his pet donkey and pet pony. He noted he was absolutely staying put.

"Stay at home as much as possible," he wrote. "Listen to the experts, ignore the morons (foreheads). We will get through this together."

Taylor Swift shared a firm message with fans, saying she had been "seeing lots of get togethers and hangs and parties still happening."

"This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can, and don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this," she wrote. "It’s a really scary time but we need to make some social sacrifices right now."

Hilary Duff was considerably more direct with her message to anyone still going out amid the outbreak.

“Go home! Stop killing old people, please," she wrote.

Lady Gaga vowed that she would be self-quarantining as well.

Emily Ratajkowski had a message for followers as well.

"Hi folks. Please stay home for the next couple weeks if you are able to and practice social distancing," she wrote.

Kelly Ripa has also been doing her part, urging others to stay home.

"#socialdistancing Italian style. Thank you @angelam3_ for this post. Proteggere i nonni. Stay safe. Wash your hands. Dance alone. #forzaitalia"

It's clearly a difficult time for all of us. While it may not be the most feasible thing to do for everyone as the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, it's well worth heeding this advice and remaining vigilant – even if that means missing out on a few parties or dinner with the family somewhere.
