You don’t need me to tell you that Adidas Sambas are the It Girl sneakers of 2023 — or that the style will likely carry its status into the new year. Celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, and Jennifer Lawrence have been sporting the casual shoe for months. And while I initially resisted making a purchase myself, I caved in early fall and am so glad that I did.
Turns out, Hollywood was right. The Adidas Sambas OG Sneaker that has been spotted on so many celeb feet is worth the hype. I love the versatility of this classic shoe, which can so easily be styled up or down. They are the first pair I grab when throwing on jeans, and they are equally cool with a skirt or a mini dress if I’m going for a high-meets-low aesthetic. These sneakers aren't part of Adidas' Cyber Monday sale — but there's an extremely similar pair that is, and it's up to 50 percent off.

While I’m typically prone to blisters, I walked for an hour in New York City in the Sambas without so much as a sore heel. The low-profile design features soft leather with suede overlays and a gum rubber insole that makes them equally comfortable and stylish. They also come in more than 10 shades so you can choose a pop of color to accent your outfit.
The Adidas Sambas have been around for much longer than they’ve been a staple in JLaw’s wardrobe. In fact, the style dates back to the 1950s when they were actually created for football (ahem, soccer) with traction and durability in mind. And while these days the Sambas are clearly much more popular on the streets than on the soccer turf, those features remain a draw. I’ve worn mine for months on end and walked miles through NYC, London, Chicago, and other cities. They still look and feel as fresh as the day they were unboxed.

You don’t have to only take my word for it either — shoppers agree. One reviewer praised the sneakers as “very stylish” and said they “can go with just about anything,” while another added that they’re “very comfortable” and a great shoe “to wear every day.” A third customer called them “cute” and comfortable “all in one.” Several fans of the shoe did recommend sizing down one for the best fit.
