Ellen DeGeneres, Ciara and More Celebrities Pay Tribute to Late Stephen 'tWitch' Boss

The beloved 'Ellen' DJ died in an apparent suicide on Tuesday.

The tributes are pouring in for the late Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who died at age 40 on Tuesday, Dec. 13 in an apparent suicide. 

Following the news of his death, which is presumed to have been caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, friends and fans alike are expressing their condolences for the beloved DJ, best known for his appearances on So You Think You Can Dance and his years-long stint on Ellen DeGenres' talk show

The host paid tribute, via a statement through TMZ: "I'm heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia."

Many celebrities flocked to the most recent Instagram post of tWitch's wife, Allison Holker Boss, who confirmed the news with a heartbreaking statement on Wednesday

"Oh my goodness… my whole heart is with you and your family ❤️❤️❤️❤️😞" actress Olivia Munn commented on a post from earlier this week, while Jana Kramer chimed in, "Praying for you and your family. I am so sorry." 

"Sisssssssster my heart is broken. I’m sooooo sorry 💔💔💔💔💔" Tamar Braxton wrote. 

"Praying for your family ❤️" Larsa Pippen added.  

Other celebrities have made their own social media posts dedicated to the talented dancer and TV personality, including Katie Couric who wrote in part on Instagram, "This is so, so sad."

Jada Pinkett Smith also penned an emotional message, remembering tWitch as "sweet, kind and generous." 

"My condolences to all his loved ones that he has left behind," the Red Table Talk host added in part of tWitch, who is survived by his wife, along with their three children. 

Billy Porter took to Instagram as well, asking fans to keep tWitch's family in their prayers. He also urged, "please check on your friends. Even the 'strong' ones, the 'happy' ones. We never know what folks are going thru 🙏🏾🕯."

Kerry Washington also took a moment to honor tWitch on her Twitter page on Wednesday, sharing in part, "Twitch brought joy and love to people all over the world through music and through dance. My heart is heavy today for his family and all of those who knew and loved him." 

Andy Lassner, the longtime executive producer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show also shared a message on Twitter, writing, "Rest, my friend," alongside a joyful photo of himself with tWitch and DeGeneres. 

Singer-songwriter Ciara shared an emotional tribute to tWitch on her socials as well, writing in part, "I am so crushed to hear the news that you are no longer with us." 

She also shared a throwback video of the pair dancing backstage on DeGeneres' former talk show.
