Celebrate Women's History Month with 5 products from brands that empower women

Every day I scour studies, news, and polls to understand the science behind these innovations and truly determine what is the best of the bunch. Like the true feminist I am, I’m always looking for ways to support women, whether that’s buying from women-owned companies or from brands that directly profit women through a charity. I like to put my money where my mouth’s at and shop brands that empower women. This rings true year-round, but with March being Women’s History Month, I wanted to make a full round-up of some of the products I’m currently obsessed with that directly benefit women.
1L’Occitane Shea Hibiscus Solidarity Balm
Slathering your body in Shea butter is one of the best ways to moisturize your skin, and this small balm makes it easy to maintain healthy skin wherever you go. That’s enticing in itself, but what’s great about this balm is that 100 percent of profits will be donated to the L’OCCITANE Foundation to support NGO projects that promote women’s leadership in Burkina Faso, a small country in West Africa. Buy one for yourself, for your friends, and for your family—it’s a purchase you can feel great about.
2Little Words Project Bracelets
As a woman, I always look to support other females, and as a Latina, I’m always excited to celebrate the success of the Latinx community. This brand, Little Words Project, incorporates both things, and it gives back in a meaningful way. For every bracelet sold, the company donates $1 to The Block Organization, a non-profit focused on building communities of kind and self-confident female leaders across college campuses. Each bracelet features words that inspire self-love and empowerment. I have three that say, “I am enough,” “Love,” and “Full Heart.” I rarely take them off.
3Parade Underwear
These undies run from size XS-3XL, are super comfy, and are made of 85% recycled material. Even better? The brand donates 1% of its profits to Planned Parenthood. I wear a lot of sustainable clothing as is, but I had never worn eco-conscious underwear before and was surprised to find that these were so comfortable. Now, I have three in my arsenal and I plan on replacing all my oldies with these Parade ones. I mean, it’s a no-brainer. Eco-friendly, affordable AF, and benefiting women? Sign me up.
4M.M.Lafleur Free Clothing Loans for Women Running for Office
Clothing brand M.M.Lafleur recently announced that it is now lending free clothing to women running for office, whether for the House of Representatives or town council. All the company’s styles are incredibly chic and scream “electable AF,” and to apply for free clothes, all a woman has to do is email the brand at readytorun@mmlafleur.com with her name, location, and description of the office she’s running for. With only 27% of elected offices held by women, I think we can all agree that we need more women in government.
5Casetify Her Impact Matters Phone Cases
I’ve had the same sparkly iPhone case for over a year now, so just as I was looking for a replacement I got this email from Casetify telling me about its Her Impact Matters collection. Through its partnership with Malala Fund, Casetify will donate 100 percent of the collection’s net proceeds to the organization throughout the month of March. As if that weren’t incentive enough to finally replace your old phone case, all the artwork was created by female artists. Hell yeah!
