Celebrate the solar eclipse with a celestial-themed doughnut at Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is all set to celebrate the solar eclipse in the sweetest way.

From April 5 to 8, Krispy Kreme fans can enjoy a special celestial treat as the popular doughnut chain celebrates the upcoming solar eclipse in a delicious fashion.

The eagerly awaited, limited-time offering, the Total Solar Eclipse doughnut, features Krispy Kreme's signature original glazed base, dipped in rich black chocolate icing. Topped with silver sprinkles, the doughnut comes in the form of Oreo buttercream, adding a creamy and indulgent dimension to the already irresistible treat.

But the Oreo magic doesn't end there — in the middle lies an entire Oreo cookie, strategically placed to mimic the alignment of the sun, the moon, and Earth during a solar eclipse, paying homage to the astronomical event set to grace North American skies on April 8.

During a solar eclipse, the moon traverses between the sun and Earth, casting a shadow that either partially or fully obscures the sun's light in certain regions.
