Celebrate Earth Month at MSU Earth Bash

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — What better way to celebrate Earth Month than with recycling, vermicomposting and repurposing?

In the spirit of sustainability, MSU Earth Bash is going on until 4 p.m. at the Michigan State University Recycling Center.

In addition to tours of the recycling center and vermicompost hoophouse, you’ll get an inside look into how MSU uses channels its waste into a resource.

There will also be family-friendly activities like creative reuse crafts, tech teardown and seed-starting, using soil mixed with MSU’s Grow Green Vermicompost.

There will be many other activities, and freecycling select clothing and media will also be available at the event.

“This practice of offering unwanted items free of charge is another way to keep items in use instead of letting them go to waste,” MSU officials said in a news release.

MSU Recycling Center is at 468 Green Way in East Lansing. The Surplus Store will not be open during the event.
