'Celebrate the Earth' at Grayson Gallery
Apr. 26—GRAYSON — The Grayson Gallery and Art Center will honor the planet today with its F!nal Fr!day art exhibit.
The show in honor of Earth Day is titled "Celebrate the Earth" and will open with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the gallery at 301 E. Third St., gallery director Dan Click said.
"More than 30 artists have submitted more than 50 pieces for the exhibit," Click said. "It's another fabulous display of works featuring a wide variety of media."
The Return Acoustic will perform rock classics and original tunes. Refreshments will be provided by Sheila Marie.
While the event is free, Click said donations at the door are appreciated.
Meanwhile, the gallery offers an online art auction with dozens of pieces by regional artists available for purchase by the highest bidder, Click said. The auction, which ends today, can be accessed via a Facebook event page, where art can be viewed and bids can be made.
May festivities at the gallery will include the local high schools' student show, with a reception set for 6 to 8 p.m. May 24.
Click said plans for a 13th anniversary of the gallery are in the works for the F!nal Fr!day event on May 31.
