Celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2024 in NEPA

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — This Sunday is Cinco de Mayo and there are plenty of places to celebrate this year in NEPA.

Cinco de Mayo, meaning the Fifth of May, is a celebration of Mexico’s defeat over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, giving Mexico a morale boost during the French-Mexican War.

In the U.S., Cinco de Mayo has become a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. While there are several commemorations on Sunday, May 5, in honor of Cinco de Mayo across the U.S., there are also numerous celebrations and specials throughout NEPA.
