Cecilie Bahnsen and ASICS Inject Color Into Their GT-2160 Collab

Cecilie Bahnsen and ASICS are set to return with another installment of the now cult-loved collaboration featuring the GT-2160 silhouette. Off the back of a super successful release that saw the Mary Jane-inspired sneaker drenched in black and silver, the dynamic duo are back with another drop, this time, featuring two colorful colorways.

Continuing to fuse Bahnsen's delicately femme aesthetic with the functional nature of ASICS, the new collaboration features a pink, red and white colorway alongside a blue/black iteration, crafted with 3D-inspired textures and floral embellishment. Featuring the same functional strap as the first designs, the new shoes aim to merge feminine dress codes with sportswear detailing.

To celebrate the release, Bahnsen teamed up with Japanese photographer Takashi Homma to create a campaign that captures the essence of Tokyo at twilight. As an extension of the campaign, Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS will also be hosting a pop-up in Tokyo, which will see the trainers displayed in a gallery alongside large-scale prints of Homma's images, open from November 9-10th.

"I have always been drawn to Japan's culture of art and design, often finding inspiration in the city of Tokyo and how people dress, with so much personal expression, effortlessly blending every day and couture. It feels very natural to celebrate this next release of the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS collaboration in Tokyo, honouring a city that has been a part of our story from the beginning," explains Bahnsen.

"Working with Takashi Homma on the campaign for this collaboration is a continuation of our love story for Japan. It's so special to work with someone you admire, giving them full freedom and seeing how the brand comes to life through their eyes," she adds.

Take a look at the campaign above, as the new Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS collab will land on the CB website on November 15, followed by a worldwide release on November 22nd. Each shoe will be priced at €220 (approx $230 USD.)
