Cause of Death Determined for Audrina Patridge's 15-Year-Old Niece

Audrina Patridge

Nine months after the sudden and devastating death of Audrina Patridge's 15-year-old niece, Sadie, her cause of death has been revealed.

Law enforcement sources have confirmed to TMZ that the teen was killed by an overdose of narcotics, though they haven't declared the manner of death at this time—meaning they're not quite sure yet if it was intentional or accidental, nor if it can be considered homicide or manslaughter at this time.

Investigators are still trying to track down whoever supplied Sadie with the pills, which another source told the publication she bought via Snapchat. That source claimed they were Percocets laced with fentanyl. If that turns out to be true, there's a good chance criminal charges will follow if they're able to identify the dealer.

Patridge announced the teen's untimely passing on Instagram earlier this year, sharing several photos from throughout the girl's short life. "My heart hurts to even write this. My beautiful niece is now in heaven. I know Its not goodbye forever, but it is the hardest to say goodbye for now," she wrote. "We will miss you and cherish every single moment we had with you. Rest in peace Say Say!! We love you forever & ever! ✨🤍🙏."

Following her death, her family set up a GoFundMe to support the new foundation established in her name, the Sadie Raine Foundation. According to the fundraiser, the nonprofit is intended to help teens & their families, though they did not clarify if it was specifically related to drug abuse. "Sadie was a beautiful dreamer, and together we will change the world for our youth," they concluded.
