Catholic Bishop Slams Sabrina Carpenter Over Graphic Music Video Filmed in Church

Sabrina Carpenter's latest music video struck a nerve with the community of one church, leaving at least one clergy member "appalled."
On Halloween, the 24-year-old singer and actress released a music video for her new song "Feather," which she reportedly filmed inside and outside the historic 19th-century Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Brooklyn, New York.
Two days after the video's release, the Diocese of Brooklyn issued a statement which said that Bishop Brennan "is appalled at what was filmed at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Brooklyn."
"The parish did not follow diocesan policy regarding the filming on Church property, which includes a review of the scenes and script," the Nov. 2 notice shared with Catholic News Agency (CNA) continued, explaining that the parish reportedly told the diocese that the production company "failed to accurately represent the video content."
The diocese also told the outlet that Brennan "is taking this matter seriously and will be looking into it further."
In the music video, the Girl Meets World alum is seen dancing in lingerie and on the altar of the historic house of prayer. Another scene depicts a group of men apparently fighting over the star, leading them to eventually kill each other in a blood bath. Other aspects that seem to have upset the parish include the coffin featured at the very beginning of the video, inscribed with the phrase "RIP B---h."
Neither the church's pastor, Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, nor the director of the music video, Mia Barnes, immediately responded to CNA's request for comment.
