If you’ve been living under a rock this week, there’s big news: Succession is back. On October 17, the third season of HBO’s drama (although others call it a dark comedy) about a rich family’s infighting will return.

For someone who hasn’t watched the show, it’s hard to explain the draw. What’s so entertaining about out-of-touch people running a media conglomerate? There’s no one to root for, and there’s rarely an endearing moment. And they have ridiculous moments, like when one of the characters buys Napoleon's penis. It may even be one of HBO’s dramas with the most swear words per minute. But there’s an unexpected glee in watching powerful people curse and yell and torture each other over the chance to run a billion dollar company just so they can rub it in their siblings’ faces.

At the center of Succession is the Roy family. Logan Roy is the aging patriarch and owner of a vast company containing a major media conglomerate, amusement parks, and a cruise division. Three of his four children, Siobhan, Kendall, and Roman, are all determined to be next in line to run the family business. The only problem is their father, who refuses to officially take one of them under his wing and announce them as his successor.

With a total of nine Emmys won in the show’s first two seasons, it’s no question Succession is one of the biggest shows in recent years. In case you’re just catching up now, we know exactly where you can watch seasons 1 and 2, and prepare for the season 3 premiere.

Here’s how to watch Succession.

How to Watch Succession Season 1 and 2

There’s two ways to watch the first two seasons of Succession. First, there’s of course HBO Max, which both cable and non-cable subscribers can access. For anyone who isn’t an HBO subscriber, Hulu also has the first two seasons.

Amazon Prime also has the first two seasons, but they’re only available to purchase and don’t come with a Prime subscription.
