Cat Returned to Shelter Because Owner 'Didn't See Her Enough' Is Breaking Hearts

We believe that every shelter animal deserves a patient, loving chance to find their perfect home, and She-Ra, the black and white cat is no exception. In fact, she had been adopted, then returned, by an owner who wasn't willing to give her the time she needs to adapt. Now that she's back at Orange County Animal Shelter in Orlando, Florida, she's extremely overwhelmed.

Fortunately, her TikTok fans are doing everything they can to share her story. Shelter photographer @aharrisphoto hopes that, with enough views, She-Ra's purr-fect match is right around the corner.

What a beautiful kitty! We're not surprised that this shy gal is skilled at hiding with her mostly-black coat, but we also know that she'll come out of her shell when she's in the right home. After all, some adopted pets just take longer to adjust in new environments!

Generally, pet experts tell new owners to follow the 3-3-3 rule. This rule explains that it can take around 3 days before a pet begins to feel safe in their new home. After 3 weeks, animals can start to adjust to new routines and will begin to show their true colors. By the time 3 months roll around, your new friend should feel more adjusted and comfortable. Of course, every individual will have their own timeline--so don't rush it!

She-Ra might be one of the pets who needs a bit longer to get used to a new place, but giving her the time will be oh-so-worth it. This shelter cat is going to make someone a very happy owner soon!
