Cat Dad Rescues and Finds Homes for 9 Puppies He Found on the Side of the Road

If you've spent much time on the pet side of TikTok, you've likely heard of the feline distribution system. This wonderful but inexplicable phenomenon happens when a cat seems to randomly pop up in someone's life, seemingly looking for a home. Maybe they got comfy on your front porch or curled up on the hood of your car, but by the time you pet them--it's game over!

One cat dad thought he hit the feline distribution jackpot when he noticed a litter of kittens on the side of the road on April 2. But as he got closer, he realized they weren't kittens at all! He ended up rescuing all 9 of the puppies that day, and when he shared the video on TikTok, he paired it with the audio from another viral animal rescue. So don't be confused!

Aww--those puppies are the cutest things! I have no idea how this man isn't more excited to be surrounded by an entire litter of puppies,  but perhaps his preference for cats runs deep. Or maybe he was just so focused on being gentle with the babies!

"Sorry, but you HAVE to take them all," wrote commenter @scuttlemoops. "It’s the distribution rules." No kidding! These babies wouldn't stand a chance on the street without one another, but this kind man's sweet gesture was truly selfless. Caring for a puppy is a lot, but 9?! That alone deserves a round of applause.

And that's not all, either. This guy went above and beyond, even finding homes for every single one of the precious Shepherd puppies. By April 7, all of the baby dogs were settled in their forever home and ready for a new 'leash' on life.

What to Do If You Find a Puppy

It may sound counterintuitive, but most of the time, the first thing you need to do when you find a lost puppy is just to wait. Sometimes, the mama dog isn't far behind! If you notice the puppy in need of medical care or find signs of an obvious abandonment, like the cat dad in this video found, then you don't need to wait.

First things first, take your new friend to the vet as soon as you can. This will ensure that you and other furry friends stay safe, and it allows you to assess the health of the new puppy. If they need deworming treatment, vaccines, or even treatment for an illness, you'll be able to take care of it ASAP.

From there--the course of action is up to you! Some people are ready to take on the responsibility of a new puppy, but others will need to help the puppy find a home or rescue where they can thrive.
