No small amount of fanfare was made over the conclusion of Ted Lasso last year, when the beloved series came to an end in May 2023 after three seasons. And nearly a year later, the cast had a mini reunion at the 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards, where the series won for outstanding comedy series.

The awards ceremony, which honors outstanding LGBTQ+ representation in the media, recognized Ted Lasso for several queer-friendly storylines in its third season.

In one, the main character Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) begins a torrid same-sex relationship with venture capitalist Jack Danvers (Jodi Balfour). Another storyline follows the beautiful coming out journey of Colin Hughes (Billy Harris), a Welsh player for AFC Richmond who finds guidance from journalist Trent Crimm (James Lance). After seeing Colin kissing his boyfriend while researching a book about the football club, Trent likewise reveals himself to be gay.

Six of the series stars posed together on the red carpet for the gala on Thursday night, including Harris, Temple, and Balfour; as well as Hannah Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton; Cristo Fernández, who plays Dani Rojas, an enthusiastic forward who joins the team from Mexico midway through the series; and Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis.

It's clear that the cast is still tight with one another. In a pre-Emmys panel earlier this year, Sudekis revealed what memorabilia he kept from the set.

"I have the snow globe that Keeley gives [to Barbara]," he said, of the uptight CFO who worked at Keeley's PR company. "I have Roy Kent’s Chelsea jersey; I have Henry Lasso’s soccer jersey that I gave to [my son] Otis. I have the original 'Believe' sign. And I just [have] a buttload of memories."

The series beat out five other series in its category: And Just Like That..., Harlem, Harley Quinn, Sex Education, and What We Do In The Shadows.
