On Thursday, Carson Daly’s family of five became a family of six. The Voice host and his wife, Siri, welcomed their fourth child, Goldie Patricia Daly, at 4:08 p.m. EST. Carson shared a touching Instagram photo of their newborn, with a heartfelt caption thanking the medical staff who helped deliver her.

“The Daly family wants to send a special shout out to the incredibly brave and selfless medical staff at our hospital in New York and also the many courageous people on the front lines of this dreadful virus,” he wrote. “We thank God not only for the safe birth of our daughter, but for their tireless work attending to so many in need.”

He continued to say it was a “bittersweet event” for their family, as they are extremely grateful but also mindful of the pandemic that’s sweeping the nation. “We appreciate your well wishes and ask that you join us in praying for the many suffering around the world. God Bless you all,” he said.

His Today co-hosts joined hundreds of Daly’s fans in welcoming the latest addition to their family. “Welcome, Goldie,” commented Al Roker, while Dylan Dreyer wrote, “I am so beyond happy for you guys!!! She’s perfect!”

“Awesome awesome news bravo god bless you all !!! And yes praying for all those working round the block caring for others god bless them too,” Maria Shriver added.

On a recent segment of Today, Daly opened up about the experience. “I wake up today just really, profoundly moved by two things on my mind,” he said. “Number one is the strength of my wife. I mean, watching her over the last 48 hours—not to mention during this pregnancy—but being nine months pregnant at this time, you can imagine the extra anxiety that it brought.”

He said that he had to drop his wife off at the hospital alone on Wednesday night, due to visitation restrictions. He could only join Siri for the birth, and then he had to leave again.

“Her heroism … she’s a superstar. She’s a superhero,” Daly said of his wife. “I wake up enamored by her and also the medical staff that we dealt with last night. The work that they’re doing on the front lines—you don’t actually believe it until you’re there and you can see it.”

Daly also confirmed that the rest of his little ones—Jack, 11, Etta, 7, and London, 5—love having their new sister around. “They’re very excited for little Go Go,” he said. “They are anxiously awaiting for mommy and Go Go to come home. Also, as London, my youngest, reminded me, ‘Daddy, I think you said Go Go was going to buy me a toy. So when do I get my toy?’”
