Carrie Underwood's Mom Rapped During Her Concert and Honestly, It's Amazing

From Country Living

  • Carrie Underwood brought her mom on stage at her recent Cry Pretty concert.

  • Her mother shocked everyone when she rapped a verse of “The Champion.”

  • We’re still recovering.

Carrie Underwood got it from her mama, apparently!

The country superstar's mother, Carole, joined her during a recent Cry Pretty concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Carole supporting her daughter doesn’t seem unexpected, especially because the show wasn’t that far away from where Carrie grew up in Checotah.

What is sure to surprise you, though, is Carole’s hidden talent. She made a surprise appearance on stage with her daughter and—wait for it—rapped Ludacris’s entire verse of the song “The Champion.”

Sound too good to be true? Carrie posted the performance to her Instagram and the video is honestly the best thing you’ll see all day, week, year.

“Nailed it!” Carrie wrote. “I kept trying to keep her on track! At the end she said ‘Did I do OK?’ Who knew Mom could rap?!” She also included the hashtag “MyMomsCoolerThanYourMom” and fair.

Carrie also shared a photo from the night, further bragging about Carole the cool mom. “Got to share the stage with this amazing champion tonight!” she said. “Of course, I’m talking about my mom! She crushed it!”

Truly everyone was obsessed with the mother-daughter moment, calling it “incredible” and “precious.” Even Ludacris himself commented with the praise-hands emoji. The only change we would have made was to take Carole up on one follower’s suggestion that “she should have mic dropped.”

So now that we know the kind of talent Carrie’s mom has been hiding, we think she should join her daughter as one of the other co-hosts for the CMAs this year. Just a suggestion!
