Carrie Underwood turned back the clock earlier this week.

The country superstar joined Guns N' Roses during their Moncton concert in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, on Aug. 5, where she performed a lengthy set featuring a fan-favorite cover from her American Idol days: Heart's "Alone."

She wore a pair of black leather shorts, showing off her toned legs, and a matching tank or bodysuit with a silver snakeskin cutout applique, a silver belt, and a stack of matching choker necklaces while she belted out the track that moved her into the Top 10 on season four of the popular competition series.

Following that performance, judge Simon Cowell told Underwood that she was "the person to beat," predicting on air that she would not only win that season, but that she would go on to "sell more records than any other previous 'Idol' winner."

Underwood was understandably stunned, mouthing, "Wow," in response as the audience cheered, but Cowell was right: while there remains debate even today over whether Underwood or Kelly Clarkson is considered more successful, Underwood has certainly outsold any other winner with a whopping 85 million records worldwide, according to her formal bio.

On stage, she also sang a slew of her own hits, plus a number of other rock covers, including Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" and Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."

She joins the band again tonight in Montreal, Quebec and on Aug. 26 in Nashville, Tenn., while continuing her Las Vegas residency on and off through December.
