The country star accepted vocal event of the year award, alongside Keith Urban. She was obviosly overwhelmed with emotion in that moment. She had just finsiehd performing her new single, Cry Pretty, which was a big moment that received I standing ovation at the end of the song. A very long standing ovation. Yeah Underwood has been teasing her return for weeks, only posting photos of teh side of her face or pictures from afar. You might remember she broke her wrist during a fall on her front porch. And then in January the country star revealed that in the same accident, she actually sufferend an injury to her face. Which resulted in more than 40 stitches. We haven't seen her in the spotlight since then. But Sony Magazine finally had their country star back. She was looking absolutely amazing.

Carrie Underwood is back and better than ever.

The country singer has returned to the spotlight at her first public event—the 2018 ACM Awards—since being injured in a nasty accident five months ago. While she skipped the red carpet, she did take the stage in order to perform her new single "Cry Pretty" for the audience.

Underwood was left with a broken wrist and more than 40 stitches to her face after a fall outside her home, and she's been laying low since then. She warned fans that she might look "a bit different," but that has not stopped her from carrying on with her career as usual.

On Saturday, she shared a sneak peek at her performance rehearsal with a great selfie.

Before then, she let fans know exactly how her recovery was progressing.

"First off, physically, I’m doing pretty darn good these days!," Underwood wrote in a note to her fans last week.

"My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% there … and the docs say that last 10% will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while."

It's good to see her back to business as usual.
