Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have one of the sweetest love stories around. The couple tied the knot in a fairytale wedding in 2010, and more than a decade later, they're still head-over-heels for each other. They're also the proud parents of two adorable boys, Isaiah Michael and Jacob Bryan. But how did the country superstar and the Canadian professional hockey player meet in the first place? How did Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher meet?

Underwood and Fisher met at a backstage meet-and-greet at one of her concerts in 2008, but it wasn’t a chance encounter. Underwood’s bassist, Mark Childers, had set them up, the country star revealed on VH1’s Behind the Music, as reported by E! News.

The singer was not sure about being set up, but when she met Fisher, she felt immediate chemistry with the Canadian hockey star.

“Hot, hot, hot,” Underwood reportedly texted Childers after meeting him, and Fisher definitely felt the same way.

“First time I saw her, she was more beautiful in person than on TV," he said on Behind the Music.

When they finally did meet up in person, their date couldn’t have been more magical. "Our first real date was on New Year's Eve, and our first kiss was when the ball dropped," Underwood said. She added that she made the first move with Fisher.

"We were in front of people, and he's not a big PDA guy," she said. "I figured, I'll go in for it because he can't leave me hanging, right? So I made him kiss me in public."

When did Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher move in together?

The couple may have tied the knot in 2010, but it wasn’t until the following year that they actually lived in the same place for the first time. For the first year of their marriage, they were still managing a long-distance relationship between the U.S. and Canada, due to Fisher's professional hockey career with the Ottawa Senators.

However, in 2011, Fisher was traded to the Nashville Predators, allowing him to finally live in the same city as his wife.

"They're a very good team, and it'll be kind of like going home for me. I'm sure my wife won't be disappointed, either," Fisher said on the Senators' website, according to an NHL news release. "But I think it's a great place for me and family and everything."

"'Cause I would literally have these horrible things going on in my life, and then have to go smile and, like, do some interviews or, like, do a photo shoot or something, you know?" she added. "So it was just kind of, like, therapeutic, I guess."
