Carrie Underwood Fans Rush to Support Her as CMA Reveals Entertainer of the Year Nominees

Carrie Underwood fans, it looks like your favorite artist is in the running for one of the biggest recognitions in country music.
On September 7, the Country Music Association (CMA) announced their annual nominations for the upcoming 2023 CMA Awards. As the names of artists up for awards rolled out on Instagram, it was revealed that Carrie was up for Entertainer of the Year, the biggest trophy of the night. What's more, folks learned she would be vying for the title alongside a number of big names in the industry, including Chris Stapleton and Yellowstone star Lainey Wilson (who received the most nominations with nine in total).

When folks realized that the "Denim and Rhinestones" songstress had the potential to take home a piece of one of the biggest moments from the night, they immediately rushed to the comments with their thoughts. Unsurprisingly, they all agreed she should win Entertainer of the Year.

"Carrie for the win this year FINALLY," one person begged on Instagram. "Hope for Carrie to win!!! She deserves it!!!! 💜," another added. "Carrie, she deserves it and hasn’t gotten it yet," a different follower remarked. "CARRIE DESERVES THIS!!! She has been screwed so many times by this category I can’t even stand it. LETS GO," someone else wrote.
Carrie's Entertainer of the Year nomination this year marks the fifth time in seven years she's vied for it. Most recently, she lost out to Luke Combs, who snagged the trophy in both 2021 and 2022. Although she hasn't commented on the news just yet, it's likely she'll have something to say when she does speak out on it.
As for what fans can expect from the CMA Awards, American Idol judge Luke Bryan and former NFL star Peyton Manning are back to host the event, and it will air on November 8 on ABC live from Nashville.
