Carrie Underwood Explains Why Her Face Looks the Same As Before Her Facial Injury

Carrie Underwood appeared on the Today show in her first television interview since her facial injury and explained to Hoda Kotb that makeup helps her look the same.

Carrie Underwood fans have likely been following the trauma she's been going through since she suffered a severe fall back in November that required her to get 40 stitches in her face. Since then, the singer and performer had a pretty quiet few months on social media, save for sharing a selfie or two from an angle that mostly hid her face. Then, she gave fans an update saying that her face was "healing pretty nicely" before making her first major public appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Now, it seems like Carrie Underwood is fully on the mend, and she's just completed her first television interview since her facial injury on the Today show with host Hoda Kotb. According to New Beauty, she told Kotb about the healing process, saying, “Every day I feel a little more back to normal. It just wasn’t pretty.” Initially, Underwood didn't know how things were going to end up, but she clearly looks great and indeed has healed pretty nicely. So nicely, in fact, that Kotb commented she looks fairly similarly now to how she did before.

Kotb remarked to Underwood during the interview, “I’m looking at you and I feel like you look the same." Underwood replied, "I have a dedicated team of professionals who can spackle and paint and paste,” giving a nod to the team that does her behind-the-scenes makeup before each on-screen appearance.

While we all know that celebrities have glam squads who do their hair and makeup before appearances to help them look their best, it's also likely that Underwood looks beautiful without her makeup, scars and all.
