"It's been quite a painful experience," the 'Dancing with the Stars' judge said in her Instagram update.

Carrie Ann Inaba is on her way to recovery after a major health scare that landed her in the hospital.

The veteran Dancing with the Stars judge detailed the harrowing experience in a new social media post, revealing that she underwent emergency appendectomy surgery last week.

Inaba, 55, documented the journey on Instagram Thursday, March 30, showing her fans video footage from her hospital bed and providing more information about the scary situation.

She began the post by first sending a "special shoutout" to the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the hospital where she had the procedure done.

"I had an emergency appendectomy last week," she explained in the caption, "and while it’s been quite a painful experience, I also know it’s a gift to even feel this pain. I realize after speaking with my doctor that it could have been much worse.🥹."

"Appendicitis attacks happen suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere," the dancer and choreographer continued. "And when you are in that much pain, the last thing you want to do is go anywhere. And when you have autoimmune disease, you are often having strange health occurrences that no one can explain or help you with so sometimes, you try to wait it out, like I did. I was wrong."

"I should have come straight to the hospital right when the pain in my abdomen started, after the sudden and violent vomiting that knocked me off my feet," Inaba admitted. "I should have gone when I couldn’t stand without excruciating pain"

But the TV personality, who already deals with multiple autoimmune diseases, including Sjögren's Syndrome and lupus said, "I honestly didn’t want to leave my babies, and I’m so accustomed to pain —thought I should let it play out."

She then warned her followers not to make the same mistake she did, imploring, "If you have pain in your abdomen, please have it checked out because it could be something very serious."

Inaba concluded, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone at @cedarssinaifor the great care. If I needed to do it again, I would come back to you. Thankfully, my appendix will not be bothering me anymore. 🙏🏼💕 #byebyeappendix#appendicitis #health#autoimmunedisease."

Despite the serious situation, Inaba seemed to be in good spirits in the video, which was set to Meghan Trainor's "Me Too."

We're wishing her a speedy recovery!
