Carlsbad Flower Fields extends season — and there’s discounts

CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego’s anthophiles will have one more week this season to visit The Flower Fields after Carlsbad Ranch extended the event with discounted prices for everyone.

Organizers announced the “encore” on Sunday, given ideal weather conditions and cool temperatures that have helped maintain this year’s bloom. The new final day Carlsbad Ranch will welcome visitors for the annual event will be on Sunday, May 19.

General adult extended season tickets are on sale for $13 — a $10 markdown. Those who get discounts during the typical season, like seniors and military, can get extended season tickets for $11 each, while admission for children ages four to 10 is $4.

Visitors will be able to experience all the same floral attractions with the extension, including the iconic rows of giant tecolote ranunculus flowers that span 55-acres of the property, the Sea of Sunflowers, tractor rides, the Butterfly and Illusion Garden, Sweet Pea Maze, and the Cymbidium Orchid Greenhouse.

The Flower Fields are open daily at 5704 Paseo Del Norte from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. After Sunday, people who want to visit will have to wait until next year’s bloom season.
