Name a more enthusiastic food celebrity than Carla Hall … I’ll wait. When she’s not traveling the world to learn about various cultures and cuisines or filming for the next festive Food Network feature, you can bet she’s in her kitchen whipping up something good for her loved ones—and for her followers.

Recently, Hall took to Instagram with two mouthwatering Thanksgiving recipes. Her perfectly baked Bourbon Pecan Pie brings me a nostalgia like no other, and her cheesy Loaded Scalloped Potatoes recipe looks like a dish I’d make any time of year. And these two dishes are a mere glimpse of her 13-recipe Soulful Thanksgiving Menu she’s sharing with us this season.

“I am so excited to share this compilation of Thanksgiving inspired recipes with you,” Hall writes in the beginning of her mini cookbook. “I love the holidays and, while many people like to speed past Thanksgiving to get to Christmas, I love celebrating the food-based family traditions that bring us all together. Of course, I add a few modern twists on some of our traditional standbys, but at the heart of these recipes [are] the same things that’s always been there: love, joy, and deliciousness!”

The Thanksgiving menu, which is charmingly pieced together and brimming with love like a recipe scrapbook, is separated into chapters of Mains, Sides and Desserts. Hall stays true to Southern traditions by including all the classics like turkey, mac and cheese and dressing, but she also adds some “modern twists.” For instance, she ends the yearly debate between pumpkin or sweet potato pie by combining them into a recipe she’s coined as a Sweet Popunkin’ Pie. That’s real holiday problem-solving if you ask me.

The only problem Chef Hall can’t solve for you this holiday season? Keeping loved ones from sneaking the leftovers home. Try out some of her Soulful Thanksgiving Menu recipes for your upcoming get-together, and be sure to serve some appetizers before the main show.
