Cariuma’s Knit Sneakers are So Popular, They Racked Up a 12,000 Person Waitlist
It's not every day that you see a shoe with a 12,000 person waitlist. Unless they’re Meghan Markle's favorites, of course. But in this case, the hype around Cariuma's IBI sneaker comes from the fact that they're sustainably-made, comfortable and cute. Oh, and did we mention they’re machine-washable too?
The all-vegan upper fabric is made from a proprietary blend of bamboo and recycled plastic from water bottles, while the soles are crafted from ultra-light Sugar Cane EVA. The result? A shoe that’s way more comfortable than the leather and canvas kicks you’re used to sporting. Wearers are obsessed. “I've fallen in love with my Cariumas. They're super comfortable and so lightweight! And I love love love how environmentally-friendly they are!” one woman writes.

Cariuma spent a whole year developing this shoe, complete with six different designs for the upper and four for the shoe itself, and we’d say they succeeded in creating the quintessential summer sneaker. Light, easy to slip on and just as comfortable as our slide sandals, we have a feeling these are going to get a lot of wear between now and August.
