Surprise! Carey Mulligan Returns to the Red Carpet, Minus One Baby Bump

Actress Carey Mulligan has built up quite a reputation for being notoriously tight-lipped. She was equally hush-hush about her ultra-private farm wedding in 2012 to musician Marcus Mumford as she was about her pregnancy, which she concealed by wearing strategically fitted gowns on the red carpet. On Wednesday, the 30-year-old Brit once again threw us for a loop while promoting her new film Suffragette, alongside her Marni-clad co-star Meryl Streep, at the London Film Festival. Wearing a black and gold patterned sweater, metallic printed knee-length skirt, and patent leather pumps, she looked classy and cool as ever. One thing that was noticeably missing? Her baby bump.
Yes—despite her never announcing that she’d given birth, she apparently has! Mulligan and her family did spill the beans to at least one anonymous person, who informed E! News that “Carey has given birth to a healthy and happy baby. She is just enjoying this time with her family and close friends.”
