Carey Muligan is pregnant with her third child with husband Marcus Mumford, a representative for the two-time Oscar nominated actress has reportedly confirmed.

Muligan, 37, had first set tongues wagging on Friday when she appeared to show off a hint of a baby bump as she stepped out at the AFI luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills.

The Promising Young Woman star was glowing as she hit the star-studded red carpet in a black gown featuring a dramatic cape.

According to People, a representative for the London-born actress confirmed that she is expecting.

The Standard has contacted a representative for Mulligan for comment.

The She Said star and her 35-year-old Mumford & Sons frontman other half are already proud parents to daughter Evelyn Grace, seven, and son Wilfred, five.

Muligan and Mumford’s love story is worthy of its own big screen adaptation as they were originally childhood pen pals.

Despite losing touch, they rekindled their romance thanks to the black comedy Inside Llewyn Davis where Mulligan starred and Mumford helped with the music. They then tied the knot in 2012 after nine months of dating.

The couple welcomed their first child Evelyn in 2015 and then their son Wilfred was born in August 2017.

Letters have continued to play an important part of their relationship, with Muligan previously explaining how they write each other love letters whenever they are apart due to their careers.

She told The Telegraph: “I think they’re becoming a lost art form, which is very sad.

“To have a love letter from someone, to hold it in your hand and know that you can keep it for your whole life… well that’s an amazing thing.”
