Cardi B Wore a Dress Made of Hair Clips on the 2023 MTV VMAs Red Carpet

Cardi B brought some PDA—and a statement gown—to the MTV VMAs red carpet when she arrived wearing a strapless dress adorned with silver hair clips.

While showing off her look in front of photographers, the artist kissed her husband, Offset, giving viewers one of the sweetest moments from the awards show so far. Offset also adorned his hair with silver clips to match Cardi’s outfit.

Cardi is performing tonight with Megan Thee Stallion, and she’s also nominated with GloRilla for best hip-hop song (“Tomorrow 2”).

She spoke to MTV during the preshow about collaborating with Megan on their new single, “Bongos,” saying Megan is “just a beautiful person.” She continued, “She’s amazing. I don’t really fuck with a lot of people, but she’s one of the people I mess with.” Cardi spoke about how they’re both hardworking, saying she trusted Megan with her vision.

Ahead of the VMAs, Cardi also spoke to SiriusXM’s Swaggy Sie about how she wants to work with Offset more—and write about sex in their music. She said that they’ve done five songs together.

“I do wanna do like, more songs with him,” Cardi admitted. “I do wanna explore. I feel like we do so much rough songs, and it’s like, let’s talk about fucking. Like, it’s like we always talk about the music. Let’s talk about fucking, because I feel like we always like on attack mode when we do songs together.”

“Let’s do a little something, something,” she teased. “Freaky, freaky, freaky, freaky.”
