Cardi B is the latest artist to have something thrown at (or splashed on) them during a performance, and her reaction has become a hot topic online.

In a now-viral video circulating social media platforms like TikTok and Twitter, Cardi B was performing her hit "Bodak Yellow" at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas when someone in the audience threw their drink at the 30-year-old.

While Cardi B was clearly shocked by the incident, she quickly turned around and launched her microphone at the individual in response, with security quickly intervening.

Cardi B got her microphone back and continued performing, but the event was soon shared online, with many defending the rapper. It was also reported that the rapper threw a microphone the night before after she kept getting cut off during her set.

Many people supported Cardi B's response and hoped that her reaction might make other concertgoers planning to throw things at artists on stage re-think their decision.

"This trend of attending female artists sets just to attack them is disgusting and i hope everyone participating gets that energy BACK," commented one person, while another wrote, "she did what needed to be done ! people need to stop throwing stuff at performers !"

Someone else joked, "The audience member getting ready to see Cardi B for 5 seconds," along with a popular meme photo of a celebrity in clown makeup.

Others were simply stunned that anyone tried this "trend" on Cardi B, with a reply reading, "when y’all gone learn to stop throwing things at artists on stage, cardi not the one."

Overall, most supported Cardi B's actions and shared their hope that people stop being disrespectful and throwing things at a concert.

Cardi B's official Twitter account retweeted a video of the event, but the rapper has not publicly commented on what happened. As of writing, Drai's Beachclub has not shared a response regarding the incident either.

This recent rise in incidents began in early June when Bebe Rexha was hit in the eye with a cell phone while singing, leading to a black eye and stitches. The assailant was arrested and taken into custody.

Many more artists have been assaulted or hit with items in the weeks since, such as Ava Max, who was slapped by someone on stage, Kelsea Ballerini, who was hit with a small object during a set, Harry Styles, who was hit in the eye with something mid-performance, as well as Pink, who received someone's mother's ashes after they were thrown on stage.
