Cardi B Has Been Charged With Misdemeanor Assault After Strip Club Fight

After turning herself into police on Oct. 1, Cardi B has formally been charged with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of assault, The New York Times reported. She'll appear in court on Oct. 29.
The charges follow an altercation at a strip club between Cardi, her entourage, and two bartenders at the club in New York that occurred on Aug. 29. Police told the outlet that Cardi was not herself involved in the reported brawl, but that "her bodyguards and other members of her entourage attacked the bartenders with bottles and chairs, causing serious injury," the NYT wrote.
The attorney for the two bartenders in the attack released a statement to CNN, which reads: "Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes. Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law, since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks. But reality is setting in, as justice does not care whether her name is Cardi B or Carly B, and she will now answer for her crimes."
Cardi's lawyer Jeff Kern, meanwhile, also talked on Monday about the charges. “We are aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm from that night. We expect the matter to be resolved expeditiously," the AP reported.

Cardi B has reportedly turned herself in to police after allegations emerged that she was involved in a brawl at a strip club.
According to TMZ, the rapper took herself to New York City's 109th precinct, in Queens, on Monday morning. Reports claim Cardi is being sued after her entourage allegedly threw bottles and chairs at two bartenders from Angels strip club — sisters Jade and Baddie Gi — who Cardi B allegedly believes may have had a relationship with her husband, rapper Offset, according to Page Six.
A source close to Cardi told TMZ that the alleged attack was not premeditated, but "spontaneous," and began when someone threw a drink.
The "I Like It" rapper is likely facing two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, and may receive a summons for a court appearance, according to Page Six. Because she turned herself in, she will reportedly not be arrested.
“Cardi is heading down to the precinct to claim her name and innocence,” a source told Page Six. “She is in the company of her counsel and detectives, and is being interviewed,” the NYPD public-information officer confirmed to Us Weekly.
This is the second time in recent weeks that Cardi B has allegedly been involved in an argument that reportedly took a violent turn. At the Harper's Bazaar Icons Party during New York Fashion Week, rapper Nicki Minaj allegedly made comments about Cardi's infant daughter, Kulture, prompting a fight between the two, and the exchange reportedly ended with Cardi allegedly throwing her shoe at Nicki. The rapper was reportedly escorted out of the party.
