According to multiple reports–not to mention video footage, photos, and well, the statement we're about to get to–Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were involved in an altercation at the Harper's Bazaar ICONS Party, a hot ticket New York Fashion Week event, on Friday night.

While many of the details regarding the fight are still unclear, it appears Cardi threw a shoe at Nicki–video obtained by Cosmopolitan features a woman wearing what appears to be Cardi's dress removing her shoe; as pictured above, she's leaving the event barefoot and, look, nobody walks anywhere barefoot in New York City by choice in 2018. Reports from the party also allege that wigs were snatched, literally, and dresses were ripped.

And while falling short of an outright confirmation of her participation (or even her opponent), Cardi shared a lengthy Instagram note at 12:14 a.m. Friday night laying out some serious beef, and what appear to be her motivations for partaking in the whole shebang.

PERIOD.

In the note, Cardi alleges that an unnamed nemesis (OK, it's almost certainly Nicki!) has engaged in all sorts of shady bad behavior-lies, trash talking, and sabotage within the music industry. Also, Cardi says, the person in question also "made comments" about her parenting skills–a bridge too far. And that's a bridge not just in terms of lyrics. "Bitches talk all that shit in they raps but in real life they pussy," she concludes. "This shit really is for entertainment."

A recommended soundtrack at this point, then:
