Cardi B Is Launching a Major Collaboration With Fashion Nova
When Cardi B rapped about "making money moves," she wasn't kidding. In the past week, she launched an album that's expected to debut at number one on the Billboard charts, performed on Saturday Night Live, and announced a pregnancy. Now, she's got another major move in the works, care of a collaboration with Fashion Nova.
Cardi B x Fashion Nova is set to launch in October 2018 and the collection will comprise 80 to 100 pieces including denim, dresses, and outerwear, Cosmo reports . "I can’t think of a better fashion icon for our first design collaboration than Cardi B," the brand's founder and CEO Richard Saghian said in a statement.
Cardi spilled some of the beans on the collaboration last week in an interview with Apple Beats 1. "With Fashion Nova, they gave me the opportunity to design what I like and what I want to put out, and I’m gonna put out a line with them, a little something-something," she said. Other than that, the only details the rapper has revealed so far are that "It’s gonna be crazy because it’s what I like."
To say that Cardi B is a "fan" of Fashion Nova would be like saying Kim Kardashian is a "fan" of selfies. She posts about the brand frequently on Instagram. "Wanna know how rich people like me stay rich?" she joked in a recent post. "By staying on a budget. These pants right here are Fashion Nova."
According to an interview with her stylist in Cosmo, Fashion Nova was also a brand that was willing to lend to her before any other retailers believed in her, and now she's pairing its affordable pieces with some seriously high-end pieces from the likes of Versace and Christian Siriano.
Her love for the brand expands even beyond her fan-girling on social media. In her new song "She Bad," she even shouts out the brand, saying, "I could buy designer, but this Fashion Nova fit all that ass." Preach!
Cardi B x Fashion Nova will be available online and in Fashion Nova stores in October.
