Cardi B Kicks Off New York Fashion Week with a Dramatic Post-Baby Makeover at Tom Ford
Not that Cardi B needs an excuse to go all out, but what better reason is there to debut a scene-stealing post-baby makeover than the Tom Ford show? Tonight, as the American designer ushered in New York Fashion Week with a lavish display of croc-embossed outwear, tightly draped pencil skirts, and fluid fringed gowns inside the Park Avenue Armory, the rapper and new mother of just two months made a triumphant return to the front row—unleashing a boldly sophisticated look that was capped with a risky, head-to-razor-sharp-fingertip color statement.
Clad in a black, body con dress that emphasized her nipped waist and mirrored the slinky silhouettes on the runway, and with her dark hair raked into a high-shine slick back, the musician pared back the rest of her look with the exception of an ultraviolet cut-crease gaze, accented by glimmering ice blue pigment smudged into the inner corners.
Pushing the look further as only she can, Cardi played off of colorful lids with an extended lavender manicure studded with crystals to light-catching effect. Bouncing back post-baby with a striking beauty risk and her signature brand of swagger, this chart-topping supernova is just getting warmed up.
