Cardi B Just Shared Her Go-To DIY Hair Mask Recipe

There are many grim lessons we've learned during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But on the lighter side of things, we've discovered that although celebs are typically lavished with the services of world-renowned makeup artists, estheticians, and hairstylists, they are indeed capable of taking care of their beauty needs themselves — just like the rest of us. Over the past few months, we've seen them do their own makeup, cut their own hair, and even dye it, too. Though some states are opening up, things are still uncertain with this very unpredictable virus, so the at-home content from the celeb set continues. On June 8, Cardi B decided to give her followers a little treat, showing them how she creates a hair treatment from scratch in her own kitchen.

The rapper shared her recipe to her Instagram stories, noting that she typically prepares the mask for herself and her daughter.

The concoction calls for avocado, argan oil, mayonnaise, black castor oil, olive oil, two eggs, honey, and banana.

In the video, She applied the mask to her one-year-old daughter's hair, demonstrating how it brings out her beautiful curls. Cardi then slathered the treatment over her own natural hair, which is a kinky-straight texture. "OK guys this is really what my hair is," she explains in a video clip. "My hair gets like this when I blow-dry it and then two days later, it just gets puffed up. This is my texture, it just doesn't get curly," she says.

The rapper then followed with a series of photos of her through various stages of her life with her natural hair. It's thick, and very textured, with not much of a curl pattern. At times, she wore it in a fluffed-out state. Though her hair doesn't appear to have any coils or definition, you can tell that moisture is key in order for it to thrive.

Eventually, Cardi returns to show fans what her hair looks like once the treatment is done and her hair is styled. Her crown is sleek, straight, and looks just like she stepped out of a salon.

The rapper then jumped onto her Instagram grid to share a photo of the finished product. Her hair reaches past her boobs, and in the caption, she credits the use of protective styles for helping her retain length. Now, Cardi didn't mention if she's used hot tools on her hair to polish off her look but regardless, the treatment seemed to have done its job and we're taking notes.
