Cardi B’s “Bartier Cardi” Music Video Is One Big Lesson in Peak Glamour

With the release of her new music video for "Bartier Cardi," Cardi B is officially beauty's biggest disruptor.

There’s glamour, and then there’s Cardi B’s brand of glamour, which she put on full display in her just-released “Bartier Cardi” music video. Shot by Petra Collins to hazy, dreamlike effect, the video finds the Bronx rapper harking back to Hollywood’s golden era as she raps on a silver-strewn stage and the hood of a moving car alike with a series of voluminous retro hairstyles, from a platinum, sky-high bouffant worn with a crimson stole and matching satin lingerie to a strawberry blonde Victory Roll updo paired with an oversized fur coat.

And the directional, nostalgia-stoking beauty doesn’t end there—with all the women in Cardi’s girl gang leaning into the ‘80s with jolts of blue eyeshadow, faces draped in bright fuchsia blush, vivid red pouts, and gleaming bare limbs. Injecting new life into the classic bombshell look, Cardi B’s latest visual offering is an amorous feast for the eyes that cements her as a new kind of disruptor in the beauty space: One with an unfiltered, more-is-more vision that she’ll never apologize for.

With her debut album Invasion of Privacy dropping on Friday, April 6, and her first Saturday Night Live performance slated for this weekend, surely the best is yet to come.
