  • Cardi B hopped on Twitter to tell her followers she hosted a Thanksgiving dinner with 37 people.

  • After receiving backlash for not following CDC guidelines, Cardi apologized for her actions. Kind of.

It's no secret that Thanksgiving this year was different because of coronavirus. Whether you enjoyed the family festivities virtually, had a small gathering with the people you already live with, or cooked a small feast for one, the general consensus from the CDC was to keep things tight this year and limit interaction with people who aren't from your immediate household. Looks like Cardi B missed the memo, because she hosted nearly 40 people at her place in a blatant disregard for health guidelines.

On Twitter last night, Cardi wrote that she had "12 kids and 25 adults over the holidays. It was lit!!" Naturally, this upset a lot of her followers who didn't have the luxury of spending time with their loved ones this year in the interest of being safe and slowing the spread. Under her post, one user wrote, "Bragging about your large gathering during a pandemic to your millions of impressionable fans who do not have the money that you have to get rapid tests is irresponsible." Shortly after, others started following suit.

Following the backlash, Cardi then tweeted out an apology to those who were upset by her actions. "Sorry, my bad, wasn't trying to make nobody feel bad," she wrote. "I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good and uplifted me. I spent so much money getting everyone tested but it felt worth it. I wasn't trying to offend no1."

Cardi also clarified that she frequently gets tested because she's working at the moment, and wrote, "Everyone that works around me get tested literally 4 times a week. I'm in the middle of work and every time we clock in we MUST GET TESTED !"

After her apology, Cardi then dismissed the backlash and claimed that "people trying tooo hard to be offended."
