Cara Delevingne Matches Her Makeup With a Striking Hair Statement at the Carnival Row Premiere

For some actors, their character’s defining beauty is a natural fit. Cara Delevingne's piece-y brown pixie worked perfectly, for example, in the trailer for forthcoming neo-noir fantasy Carnival Row, in which the super stars as a fae—or a pixie. For last night's Los Angeles premiere, though, Delevingne took a pretty, colorful approach that spoke more to the show's whimsical genre than its moody cinematography.

The red carpet saw Delevingne exchanging character Vignette Stonemoss's mussed brunette for a twisted blonde ponytail that was wholly her own, with parted segments at the crown bedecked in purple and poppy barrettes matched to her galactic bloom of a Iris van Herpen dress. Also coordinated was Delevingne's gaze, which centered on a duet of Dior eyeshadows—celestial lavender across the lids, tangerine edged along the lower lash line—that brought updo, gown, and makeup into one eye-catching infusion. A dusting of blush and selection of silver earrings acted as worthy finishers, the look a visual ode to all things ethereal. Because if you spend enough time enmeshed in a fantastic world, the spirit is likely to rub off on you.
