Cara Delevingne Has Some Insane ‘Burner’ Hair

When it comes to festivals, celebrities tend to take their hair, makeup, and outfit choices very seriously. Need proof? Just check out the latest looks from the Burning Man festival, most notably Cara Delevingne’s colorful hairstyle.

After Delevingne chopped off her hair into the ever-popular lob recently, she kept her sandy-colored locks pretty natural, sans extensions or hair dye. However, Burning Man brought out a whole other side of Delevingne, with her look transforming from classic, tousled waves to multicolored boxer braids, all thanks to celebrity hairstylist Laura Polko.

Polko debuted the look on her Instagram account and captioned the image: “@caradelevingne mad max braids for the burn baby.” With five rows of braids and colorful extensions in bright blue, violet, and hot pink, Delevingne’s style is definitely “burner” approved. Check it out for yourself, below:

According to an interview with Polko on Byrdie.com, Delevingne’s look wasn’t too difficult to create. All she had to do was divide Delevingne’s hair into five sections and clip in the colored extensions at the crown. Then, she braided each section, weaving in the colorful hair pieces as she went. Sounds easier than we would have thought!

Delevingne isn’t the only one who paid Polko a visit for a Burning Man hair change-up: Her sister Poppy Delevingne also went into the salon for her own pair of embellished braids. This time, Polko opted to give Poppy only two boxer braids (instead of Cara’s five) with shades of hot pink and turquoise woven into them:

Another celebrity stylist, Chris Dylan (who often styles Kylie Jenner’s hair), was also recruited for Burning Man hair duty, but this time it was to create gorgeous braids for Paris Hilton. The look included two French braids that were tied off with ribbon at the nape of her neck. Then, the remaining hair was braided into multiple smaller braids for a wilder, jungle-esqe look. Clearly, braids were a major trend for Burning Man this year, but unlike Coachella, where braided crowns and hippie vibes are all the rage, these looks were a lot edgier. With such an awesome repertoire of Burning Man hairstyles, we can’t wait to see what Polko and Dylan have in store for us next.
