Car show benefiting CASA of Rockwall/Kaufman counties this Sunday

May 15—Automotive enthusiasts will soon have an opportunity to mix and mingle with others who share their interests while also supporting area children at the 19th annual Cars for CASA car show on Sunday at the Rockwall County Courthouse at 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane.

Specifically, the event will benefit Lone Star Court Appointed Special Advocates, which assists children in the foster care system in Rockwall and Kaufman counties. Volunteers with the organization are appointed by judges in district courts who are hearing cases regarding allegations of child abuse and neglect, and it's the CASA volunteer's role to meet and visit with the children and act on their behalf when the cases go to court.

As in years past, the car show is sure to feature dozens of new, antique, classic and vintage vehicles. In addition to the vehicles, the event will include food vendors and a raffle.

Registering a vehicle for the event will cost $30 with all the proceeds going to Lone Star CASA. The link for online registration is https://tinyurl.com/827hex8w.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with on-site registration open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and awards being presented at 4 p.m.
